<p>L'enquête sur l'emploi, le chômage et l'inactivité (appelée Enquête Emploi en continu), vise à observer le marché du travail de manière structurelle et conjoncturelle.</p>
<p>C'est la seule source fournissant une mesure des concepts d'activité, de chômage et d'emploi tels qu'ils sont définis par le Bureau international du travail (BIT).</p>
<p>Elle correspond à l’enquête sur les forces de travail (EFT) qui est la déclinaison française de l’enquête « Labour Force Survey » (LFS) définie au niveau européen.</p> |

<p>The Employment, Unemployment and Inactivity Survey (known as the Continuous Employment Survey), aims to observe the labour market in a structural and cyclical manner.</p>
<p>It is the only source providing a measure of the concepts of activity, unemployment and employment as defined by the International Labour Office (ILO).</p>
<p>It corresponds to the French version of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) defined at the European level.</p> |

<p>L'enquête sur l'emploi, le chômage et l'inactivité est née en 1950 pour permettre une mesure régulière de l'emploi et du chômage.</p>
<p>Au fil des décennies, l'enquête a intégré des nombreux changements de questionnaires ou de concepts (notamment pour se conformer aux orientations du Bureau international du travail (BIT) ou d'Eurostat) ou de nature méthodologique (sur l'échantillonnage ou le traitement de la non-réponse par exemple) ou technique (sur les modes de collecte, l'informatisation du traitement des données, etc.).</p>
<p>Les principales évolutions qu'elle a connues dernièrement sont les suivantes :</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>à partir de 2003, d'annuelle, l'enquête Emploi en métropole devient continue : elle est réalisée sur toutes les semaines de l'année ;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>en 2009, son échantillon est progressivement augmenté de 50 % ;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>en 2013, le questionnaire de l'enquête est refondu, pour en faciliter la passation, notamment au téléphone, améliorer la codification des variables de profession et de diplôme, enrichir la connaissance du marché du travail avec l'introduction de nouvelles questions et se conformer aux orientations d'Eurostat sur certains indicateurs (formation, halo autour du chômage) ;</p>

<li>
<p>depuis 2014, les DOM (hors Mayotte) intègrent le processus de l'enquête Emploi en continu ;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>en 2021, l'enquête est rénovée pour notamment mettre en conformité son questionnaire avec le nouveau règlement européen qui l'encadre et moderniser son protocole en proposant Internet comme mode de réponse supplémentaire en ré-interrogation.</p>

<p>Chaque année, un module complémentaire, conçu au niveau Européen en collaboration avec Eurostat, vient éclairer un thème particulier. À compter de 2021, les modules complémentaires sont pleinement intégrés à l'enquête Emploi.</p> |

<p>The French Labour Force Survey was established in 1950 to provide a regular measure of employment and unemployment.</p>
<p>Over the decades, the survey has incorporated numerous changes of questionnaire and concept (in particular to comply with the guidelines of the International Labour Office (ILO) and of Eurostat), but also methodological developments on sampling methods and non-response processing, or technical improvements on collection methods, computerization of data processing, etc.</p>
<p>The main recent developments are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>From 2003 onwards, the annual French Labour Force Survey in metropolitan France becomes continuous; it is conducted every week of the year;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>In 2009, its sample has been gradually increased by 50%;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>In 2013, the questionnaire has been redesigned to facilitate the handover, particularly over the telephone, improve the coding of occupation and diploma, improve knowledge of the labour market with the introduction of new questions and comply with Eurostat guidelines on some indicators (training, halo around unemployment);</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>From 2014, the French overseas departments (excluding Mayotte) have joined the continuous employment survey process;</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>In 2021, a full renovation of the French LFS is implemented : renovation of the questionnaire in order to be in line with the new European regulation, new protocole with possibility of answering on Internet for re-interviewing.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p>Each year, a complementary module, designed at European level focuses on a specific theme. From 2021 onwards, the complementary modules are fully integrated into the French Labour Force Survey.</p> |
