http://id.insee.fr/concepts/definition/c1142/definition/v1/en http://rdf-vocabulary.ddialliance.org/xkos#plainText Imprisonment is a penalty of deprivation of correctional liberty. The scale of prison sentences is fixed by the article 131-4 of the Penal code and varies from two months to ten years in most. The court that pronounces a prison sentence may order that it will be suspended upon execution of this penalty. The suspension of sentence may be alone or accompanied by probation; the suspension implies the total or partial deferral of the penalty. Suspension may be revoked in the event of any new sentencing to a criminal or correctional sentence without suspension for a felony or a common law offence. The sentencing is considered as void if revocation does not take place in a five-year period. The suspension with probation is the combination of suspension in the detention and testing. It submits the condemned person, to monitoring and assistance measures and special obligations, under the supervision of the judge responsible for the application of sentences.
